NC3C Postpones Annual Conference Due to COVID-19

Dear NC3C Members and Colleagues:

The NC3C board members have been diligently monitoring the COVID-19 (novel coronavirus) daily and have been talking regularly to assess its impact on our upcoming annual conference.

First and foremost, we hope that each of you are making preparations for your own health and well-being. And, a heartfelt thank you to all of our colleagues across every line of government working tirelessly on COVID-19. A special thanks to all of you, the government communicators, whose role is critical during such an epic event ??? for both internal and external communication. Our thoughts are with all our residents and those on the front lines and at and at the forefront of battling COVID-19.

However, this pandemic has affected the plans for our annual conference, scheduled for April 29- May1. At this time, following State guidance and in the interest of protecting members??? safety, we have made the decision to postpone the conference to a later date.

Here is all of the information you need to know regarding conference planning:

  • All registrations will be refunded over the next few days. We are working to get this done as soon as possible, please be patient as we have full-time jobs, in addition to serving on the NC3C Board.

  • We've given the Hilton authorization to cancel any reservations associated with the NC3C block. When your room is canceled, you will receive a cancellation email. If you did not book your room through the hotel block you will need to call and cancel your room.

  • We are working with sponsors to offer refunds and/or work with them on a later date.

  • We are reaching out to presenters to notify them that we are postponing and asking if they can work with us at a later date.

  • We are moving forward with judging for the awards program and will make a decision on how to announce the winners and provide awards as the situation develops and we learn more about a future conference date.

  • Our bylaws state that members will vote on new Board members at the annual Spring Conference. Since that date has been postponed, our current Board members have agreed to remain in their roles until a vote can be made.

Please continue to use the NC3C Facebook group to share information, ask for help and support each other. We will share information about the conference and other NC3C plans as soon as we can. If you have questions, please reach out to me or any of our board members directly.

Stay healthy!

Thank you,
