Enjoy free lunch and talk with your local government communications peers about creating a sense of place through downtown revitalization, the arts and the stories and branding we do around these important components of our communities.

Our first session will look at how downtowns create a sense of place and how they help us tell our community’s story. We’ll be joined by Clayton Economic Development Director Dave DeYoung, local entrepreneurs James Lipscomb and Lynn Auclair, and Lyn Austin, a longtime champion of downtown Clayton.

Then, Clayton Mayor Jody McLeod, Triangle ArtWorks Executive Director Beth Yerxa and local artist Clark Hipolito will join us for a discussion on how arts build community and strategies to communicate about the importance of the arts.

We'll begin the morning with coffee and networking from 9-9:30 a.m. Introductions and sessions will run until noon, to be followed by lunch and a tentatively scheduled, optional tour.

Hope to see you in Clayton!

Registration deadline extended to noon Monday, Nov. 18.
